You don’t have to be tech-savvy or a nerd in order to be excited about digitalization. I am excited about saving time, less waste, additional transparency, the leaving out of needless steps in a process, being networked with any number of people, the almost unlimited access to knowledge, the freedom to choose when and which media I use and which contents to consume. And the whole time one can always regionally, seasonally, shop or consume offline very well.
Consulting and Key-note Speeches. With enthusiasm I give talks and present such topics as „Leading in the Digital Age“, „Digitalization & Local Commerce“ or „Enterprise Social Media and Social Software“. In addition I consult companies and institutions working on an honorary basis or for a fee on the development of digital strategies, the introduction of digital tools (for example social collaboration platforms), but also on topics such as customer base management.
Research. Digitalization is the subject of my dissertation, which I successfully finalized at the European Business School, University of Economics and Law (Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht) in Oestrich-Winkel, Rheingau in May 2018. In doing so I dealt with not only theoretical but also empirical predominant quality research studies with questions such as: how has leadership in the age of social media changed? How can one use digital tools in order to optimize inter-institutional collaboration (for example within the framework of the integration of refugees)? How can digitalization support the greater good?
Teaching. I am currently commissioned for a deputy professorship in general business administration, in particular marketing in the faculty of economic sciences at University of Applied Sciences Koblenz. I continually try to integrate my practical experience into the courses. Of course here also digitalization is as a mega trend and an increasingly important part of the courses. Not only as a subject in my courses, but also in aspect of digital learning and teaching, with blended learning and e-learning approaches, which we are developing and increasingly implementing at the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz.
